These Kinder cookie bars, or Kinder blondies, are deliciously soft and chewy and filled with a layer of creamy Kinder bars.

Cookie Bar Ingredients
This recipe uses easy, standard baking cupboard ingredients:
- Unsalted butter – this delicious base of every cookie recipe adds richness
- Light brown sugar – adds a lovely caramely flavour and makes the cookie bars super soft
- Caster sugar – light texture adds sweetness and mixes into the cookie dough easily
- Eggs – makes the cookie dough smooth, and gives a rich chewy taste
- Vanilla extract – adds so much flavour
- Plain flour – stabilizes the cookie dough and holds it together
- Salt – adds even more flavour
- Bicarbonate of soda – leavens the dough to create a softer, fluffier cookie
- Kinder bars – create the perfect creamy white chocolate hazelnut filling

MAKING THE COOKIE DOUGH
This recipe is really simple and comes together in 30 mins.
Start with your butter and sugars in a bowl and mix them for a few minutes until they're really light and fluffy.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract and keep mixing until they're combined.

ADDING THE DRY INGREDIENTS
Next, add in all your dry ingredients. So this is the flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt. Mix the batter again for a few minutes until all the flour is combined. Be careful not to overmix at this point.
Unwrap all your Kinder bars and keep each bar whole.
LAYERING THE BATTER
Pour half of your cookie batter into greased and lined cake tin. Use a spatula or a spoon to smooth the batter into an even layer.
Place the Kinder bars directly on top. You're aiming to cover as much batter as possible to create a thick layer of Kinder bar chocolate in the middle.
Pour over the remaining cookie batter and smooth over to cover all the chocolate. This will stop the chocolate getting burnt while the batter is baking.

TIPS FOR BAKING
Make sure your oven is preheated, as it will help the bars to bake evenly. I would highly recommend lining the cake tin with butter and grease proof paper because it makes the bars so much easier to get out. If you don’t have greaseproof paper, you can use foil.
My cookie bars took 25 mins in the oven. Check if yours are done by seeing if they have a slight wobble in the middle. They'll firm up slightly as they cool down. I would advise taking them out earlier if you're not sure, as they'll be closer to a cookie dough texture rather than cake bars!
When they come out of the oven, you can put extra Kinder pieces on top. This is completely optional.

CUTTING THE BARS
It’s best to let these Kinder cookie bars cool in the tin for at least a hour before removing them. I find them easiest to cut when they’ve completely cooled to room temperature, and the butter and chocolate filling has firmed up again. If you want your cookie more on the melted side, simply cut them into slices sooner!
All that's left is to enjoy these Kinder cookie bars, or Kinder blondies.
